Less than a year after releasing their critically acclaimed third album Like All Before You, The Voidz return with a new EP, Please allow space..
Pushing their genre-bending sound even further, the collection was recorded in Gordon Raphael’s basement studio, Transporterraum, in Alphabet City, East Village—where Strokes made Is This It (2001).
The Voidz—Julian Casablancas (vocals), Jeramy “Beardo” Gritter (guitar), Amir Yaghmai (guitar), Jacob “Jake” Bercovici (bass), Alex Carapetis (drums), and Jeff Kite (keyboards)—bring their signature edge to every track.
The EP has been acclaimed by critics. The Slug described Please allow space. as “genuinely fun,” while Clunk Mag says the band has “materialised from an inter-galactic realm” and delivers “a unique listening experience.”
The four-track EP includes “Unholy Lover,” “Blue Demon,” “Russian Coney Island,” and “Drifto.” “Blue Demon” was recently performed live by the band on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
